How to add additional parties to a matter

Add additional parties (eg Mediators) to a matter and control what they can access. New parties require approval from the matter’s existing owners before they can join.

Invite as a New Party 

1. Click the pencil icon on the right-hand side of the matter name to edit the matter
2. Select Parties from the left-hand menu
3. Click Invite Party in the top-right corner
4. Enter the party’s details
5. Click Invite — the new party now appears in your list of parties

Approval Requirements

Adding a new party requires formal consent from all original parties. Only the owners of a party can approve the addition of a new party. Owners receive an email requesting approval.

Once all parties approve, the new party automatically receives every document previously disclosed on the matter.

Limiting a New Party’s Access

To limit what a new party can see, copy the matter to yourself first. Then disclose or share only the selected documents with them, instead of adding them directly to the original matter.
