Organisation administrators control how AI features apply across their organisation. Choose one of four policy options to determine whether, and how, Matter Owners can use Matter Intelligence.
IMPORTANT: Only organisation administrators can set or update the organisation’s AI policy.
Available Policy Options #

| AI is disabled across the organisation. Users cannot enable Matter Intelligence for any matter. | AI is disabled by default. Matter Owners can manually enable Matter Intelligence for individual matters, either during matter creation or later from matter settings. | AI is enabled by default. Recommended Default: Opt-In Policy #
The Opt-In policy is recommended for organisations introducing AI gradually as this approach balances flexibility for Matter Owners with oversight at the organisation level.
Benefits include:
- AI remains disabled by default
- Matter Owners control activation per matter
- AI can be trialled on selected matters only
- Sensitive matters can remain excluded from AI functionality
